Bangladesh trip - part 3 !!!

These are my last few days in the amazing place I am so great full for all I have learned and accomplished. Before I go there is a few things I want to do I am going to do some shopping man do people here love to shop I think we have to many malls at home they have at least 25 or more no wonder they call it skyscraper city next to new york I would say so. I want o find some more dolls for my collection and for other people as well. I am not a sports person but my dad is so I decide to go to half a cricket game and tape it for him. Now after that long game. I am going to a drama that is one of Daka’s well knows arts next to dance. The people here are all so pleasant helpful and understanding even though there is so much going on in that orphanage there was so much love and happiness for some children that will never have a family or know what love truly is. I saw a spark in the place that is always going and moving that makes me so happy I came. I am going to the hotel for the last night I am sad that I have to leave the amazing place full of life and fun. I have to go home and start planning out with united way about the other kids that need adopting. It is about 10:30 pm of to sleep then see my last view of this place. Before I go to sleep I am going to sing the national anthem. ….. lol no I am just kidding. Good night! It is early the next morning and I am packing and going to the airport in an hour. What a great trip I am going to have to come back soon.

Bangladesh trip - part 2 !!!

Today Meagan arrived from the airport and I am meeting her at the market after she goes to

the hotel. I have always wanted to see what the other people in the world eats everyday because I am thinking that it is different from North America food. Though I found that it is not different at all only 10x healthier. I found some recipes that I am going to share later. Luckily it rained today so it is not so hot so when we go on a river cruise. Bangladesh is known for their river transpiration to get around because of the big amounts of rain and when it floods that is when boats tend to be lively hood. It is about 2:30 pm and Meagan and I have had an agreement to tell the orphanage that there is a chance that only 4 might get adopted right now and the rest will be pending to keep in touch. Right now we are going to go see the Chandra and Deva Dinasty in sonargon. Now it is about 5:30 and we are going to have supper on the tour we heard about a tribal dance witch should be fun. Meagan has friends that work for the foundation that helps with water supply’s for places that need it after disasters like hurricanes so we have arranged that he can put fresh water in the orphanage they are going to have to dig up the site and relocate the kids for about a 1 year or more but they are happy that they will not get sick as much now. When we arrived at the dance they were all dressed like the doll I have from here that one of our friends when he traveled he would bring me back dolls from all over. The dance was pretty and amazing I cannot believe I got up and danced with them that was fun as well. Now we are going to go back to the hotel for the night after this week of excitement I am ready to get home but first I have a few more things to do before I go. http://www.dhakaholidays.com/tour-operator-bangladesh/71-tour-operator-of-bangladesh-day-tour-in-a-around-dhaka.html

Bangladesh trip - part 1 !!!

I JUST ARIVED AT Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka. It is about time to go and eat something it has been a long time to get here. I am off to go and eat at star reastrant I here it is great food. the weather here is about 17 c. though do not forget that this is in the morning because in the afternoons are about 20’s but with humidity feels like 30’s.
Now after my great meal I am going to call my hotel and have them come get me. I am staying at the raddisonblue hotel it was just built not to long ago and it is rated top hotel. Though I do not think I will be spending my time besides sleeping and eating breakfast.
Now after my long reast it is about 1:00pm and I am going to go see the Baldha gardens
and tem find some fresh fruit. Thelast thing I did before heading to the hotel was I went a visited and old church where there is not much difference to our churches at home because they are Christian as in Canada it is catholic or christian. It is about 5:30 so I am going to go back to the hotel and have dinner then rest for my big day tomorrow and for the next week. The next morning around 10:00 am I am off to go on a safari tour most of the day. The tour was amazing I saw so many animals my favorite was the elephant then I saw tigers not one three of them!!!!. The last thing I am going to do to today is to talk to the director of children’s homes and talk to her to see when the best time to go see the kids in the orphanage…………
the next morning that is I am going to go visit and orphanage that is locally known to be the biggest one that needs the most help so I am off to lend and hand and make connections to try and get adoptions back home as much as I can working with red cross and the united way is how I am going to get adoptions to happen I have already gotten 20 adoption parents that want kids. I also want to see about their education and health before we let the adoption parents have hope. The health here is ok. Not Canada under or in any way. There is a lot of Hiv and aids that are in a pandemic so that is not good for the adoption side of things. The education here is low the school system is getting there thought the literacy level is way down. This is going to be hard especially for older kids with adoption. A lot of this has to do with the economy and that weather things are good and bad the main things that Bangladesh uses are mild, almost tropical climate, fertile soil, ample water, and an abundance of fish, wildlife, and fruit. The standard of living compared favorably with other parts of South Asia. I know that if there was more money it would go into the schools but the aids is there main concern and I understand why though my mission is to help the kids in the orphanages. Now after my few days with them I am going to have one of my main advisors Meagan from united way to come and help me figure out are next move. I hope she likes the heat!
